Wow, thanks for sharing. I just finished doing a picture directory for our church and we used a photo of one of our stained glass panels for the directory cover.
I worked with the professional photographer that day. It took almost a whole afternoon to get that one image just right.
Taking good pictures of stained glass windows is very difficult. Between backlighting and imperfections in the glass, etc...
My partner and I saw the Chagall windows in the Fraumunster in Zurich, and they were stunning! I didn't know he'd done so much other stained glass work, but it makes me happy because they're amazingly beautiful.
Also, when I was little I had a small stuffed alligator with green sequins on its back, who I named Chagall. I didn't know at the time that there was an artist by that name, but ever since I've had a soft spot for him (the artist - also the alligator).
I like the story of the cathedral in England when Oliver Cromwell and the puritans were banning such things as Christmas and stained glass windows. The parishioners took down the window and hid it for 9 or so years then, after Cromwell was off the scene, discovered that they couldn't put it back together the way it had been so they put it back all higgledy-piggledy.
I was also just in Zurich, and was very impressed by the Fraumunster Chagall windows. I didn't have good information, it was just an airport layover, so missed the Giacometti window there.
