It's Grimm, all right.

I found a listing on eBay this morning, for a - and I quote - "first edition, first printing" of Grimm's Fairy Tales. From 1980. Which, I'm pretty sure, was well after the first edition of Grimm's Fairy Tales was printed.

I want to go to sleep for a hundred years in the hope that when I wake up, people will have gotten smarter.

Speaking of fairy tales, does anyone want my (mint, only viewed once) Blu Ray of Pan's Labyrinth? Comment, and email with your address, and I'll send it off posthaste.

Feb 28: I have not received a single taker on Pan's Labyrinth (how bizarre!) so I have donated it.

I've been trying to figure out a way to harness the power of stupidity. I figure that would be a source of cheap, available, and [sadly all-too] renewable energy. I suppose the carbon footprint is non-zero due to all the mouth-breathing... but it's like hydro-electric power: the stupidity keeps coming, whether I use it or not.

Sadly, events continue to prove the adage that there is no cure for stupidity. It will be interesting to see if you have any takers on your offer to give away the DVD after your very scary review. :-)

I once read a review of the movie "Vera Drake" in which the writer speculated, in all seriousness, on one character as follows:

"Could Reg be the aborted child of Vera Drake herself?"

No. No, he couldn't.
