No pressure though.

I got this one from a blogger I just stumbled upon while looking for information on seaweed dyes. She did a giveaway that's a little unusual, and I liked the idea. Thanks, Wicked.

Read the rules carefully though, as there are a couple of catches.
--------------------------------
The first five (5) people to respond to this post will get something made by me.

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make. You get what you get.
2. What I create will be just for you...if you have a blog I can mine for ideas, it might be based on what I think you'll like - or it might be random.
3. It'll be done this year (2009).
4. I will not give you any clue what it's going to be. It will be something made in the real world and not something cyber. It may be weird or beautiful. It may be baked goods.
5. I reserve the right to do something strange, if inspired to do so.
6. In return, all you need to do is post this text into a note of your own - or a blog post - and make something for the first 5 people to respond to your note.
7. Send me your mailing address if you don't live close to me!

IMPORTANT: You DO have to pay it forward.
-----------------------------

So that's what I copied from Wicked...with my own changes. I would like to add that the value is not high - I won't be knitting five lace shawls. Plus we've all got postage to consider.

I took out the line that said that you have to make something for me too, as well as your five people - I'm not going to require that, but if you feel like it, by all means have at it.

If you want to participate, great. Leave a comment with a link where I can find your post. Email with your address and I'll start working on your creation later this month. Fun!

OK I accept the challenge. I will see who I can get to respond. Can I send you an email for confirmation of my play it forward?

My initial post was mis-spelled.

I think this might be fun, so I'm going to join in the fun.

Yay! I am so glad that you decided this was neat. I had been slightly bummed that I had only 2 people to actually make things for (that was including the person I stole it from), so yay! I have another person.

I do hope that you have as much fun as I have been, and thank you for reminding me that I need to post photos of my finished Seaweed Shrug.

I'm so excited if I'm really among the first five! I loved the film about paying it forward a few years back (Halie Joe Osment and Kevin Spacey if I recall correctly) and I would be privileged to be part of the forward chaining here.
Shannon, I don't have a blog, I'll send you my address separately.
Exciting!

I've always wanted something made by you! I don't have a blog - all I can offer is my Facebook profile!

Apologies to the blog mistress, for threadjacking your comments right now...
@Kimmer- just so you know, it originated over on Facebook, I only moved it over to my blog (where Shan found it) when I decided it needed a larger audience. The point is it just needs to be visible some place (and specifically visible to the person you are stealing the Pay It Forward from)

Sad I missed the first five, but sometime I'll steal this, too.

Okay, the first commenter deleted her post, so:
1-Shannon in Ottawa (good to hear from you!)
2-Clumsy Ox
3-Maryanne in PGH
4-Kimmer
5-Bethro

I might sneak some more in, too, so by all means keep commenting. (Stace, your chances are excellent.)

Anyone who wants to email me their address and has never corresponded with me, find my contact email in the sidebar.

I really like the idea of this and honestly did post this in my LJ a few months back and only one person responded saying that she liked it but wasn't looking for anything out of it as she is postal challenged ;) So needless to say I never did get the chance to pay it forward.

You'll have to let me know how it goes for you in the end.

OK - here's my post. http://www.myowntwosticks.com/blog/?p=185

Drat!

Im Posting a comment in the hopes that I might be # 7! This would be good fun for me as it would motivate me to knit a little faster! ! !
Besides.. Who wouldn't be proud to own a piece of Shan's handy work!

Harrumph. Am currently wearing the Mamlukes, though, and they still make me happy enough to cover this missed opportunity. :)

Heh. Part of me is v. v. disappointed to have missed the boat. The rest of me says "phew". I mean, I love giving and receiving and making and all that, but can we say, "overcommitted"? Mmm, probably.

Phew! That's a challenge I wouldn't be up to doing. Time restraints and all that.

Just so as you know, when I saw this post you must have just posted it because there were no responses. I liked the idea of the whole thing but I figured since we have already been the beneficiaries of your skill and talent ... and as you are working on something for us now ... that you'd probably have killed us for signing up ... so we waited and gave others a turn to go. I expect an extra jewel in my heavenly crown for resisting this temptation.
