You knew it was coming...

I quote my brother:

Happy Christmas countdown to all the Yule-obsessed! Today is August 25, four months until Christmas today!

The Ber Months begin seven days from now. Summer's been brutally hot here in the South: time for a temperature down-turn and some more civilized climate.

So everybody: get excited, think about turkey (deep fried?), ham, fruitcake, rum, and eggnog. Think about snow, scarves, mittens, and pinched noses. Think about fires, dark drinks, steaming mugs of chocolate, and deep armchairs in the firelight.

Thank you, Clumsy. I would only add:
Think about wool.

Oh PLEASE!!!
I am still waiting for SUMMER to arrive -I literally gasped when I read that it is only 4 small wee months until Christmas ( decidedly my favorite Season ) - but perhaps this year we could postpone it a bit?? Say until February ? I want some sunshine beore the onset of falling leaves and frosty mornings.... and yes I have already started my Christmas knitting ....

Karen,
I am sorry but we can not postpone Christmas, because WE have had nothing but summer for about two years, now. In fact, it has really been the opposite of Narnia here: always summer and never winter. Or something like that. We are more than willing to work out some sort of exchange if you are interested.

Ames we would GLADLY take some of your summer weather up here this year. Maybe we could arrange an exchange for the month of September? It has been a decidedly UNsummer-like summer. Sigh.
In fact, we totally could have had Christmas in July.

Sounds good to me!

I so love the thought of northern winters, oh so cold and snowy so that you NEED to wear those hats scarves and mittens. It just doesn't get cold enough here.
My MOTH says about the ber months, "Septober, Octember, Nowonder my goodness it's Christmas.

I think I want to live in your brother's world - I have had enough of summer and hot weather.

Eeep... I am not really ready to start thinking about Christmas.
I had such plans about making some gifts for Christmas but I doubt I will even be close to getting them done.
