Marching On

I have been going great guns on Ruby's Christmas sweater. See?

Body done, and I'm ten rows into the second sleeve. Woot!

Sleeve the first.

This sweater is much admired at knit night, where the girls furrow their brows and try to figure out how on earth those bobble rows are done. Finished, they look like crochet - it's cool. Here's the shoulder seam, by the way, done with a three-needle bindoff rather than binding off and seaming, as directed in the pattern. Much neater this way.

The pattern is so interesting to knit - it really keeps me going from one row to the next. I have a long drive ahead of me tomorrow, so I am hoping to get the second sleeve finished and a good start on the hat. This sweater is the first of my Christmas knitting, so once I get it done I'll be REALLY in the mood!

Next thing you know, there'll be a countdown banner.

This is going to be another winner. Ruby loves her 'drifting' sweater, particularly the buttons. She'll be the best dressed kid in Ottawa!

Mmmm. Three-needle bindoff shoulder = so much nicer. I have an aversion to shoulder seams.
