Springtime Kitchen

I spent the weekend making - embellishing? - a pair of tea towels. It's my first time embroidering (cross stitch doesn't count) so I was not at all sure how they'd turn out, but I think they've ended up quite pretty.

An eggcup, and a Bialetti...slightly esoteric items, and two of the things I like having in my kitchen. Their specificity is very cheering.

One must be able to hang one's tea towels.

Motifs: Alicia Paulson, backstitched with DMC 3771 (Black brown).

Hm, at first I thought the egg cup was a chalice ... coffee and wine ... is that a good message for children! So, egg cup, that's better.

I was just recently wondering if a body could buy tea towel fabric. Those are super nice, Shan. Good job.

Oooh, love them! Looks like something from Grandma's old kitchen -- remember the kitchen door with the little porch and the clothesline? And the clothespegs in the bag? These tea towels look like they belong on that clothesline. Great work, S.

Oh so cute! I love the look of the black stitches, particularly the espresso pot, which is also one of my favorite things in my own kitchen.

I think Sherry has a great idea, Shan -- you really should consider selling some of your handwork. It's no get-rich-quick scheme, (nor a get-rich-easy one) but you could certainly recover a little of the cost of the materials. Really, you should think about it! I bet you could sell things easily, even on this blog. :)

My word verificaion is blogan which seems like a good omen. Blog on!
